Your Brain on Computers

Matt Richtel of the New York Times has written a series of articles about the effects of technology on brain development. In his recent article, "Digital Devices Deprive Brain of Needed Downtime", Mr. Richtel notes that scientists have found that "when people keep their brains busy with digital input, they are forfeiting downtime that could allow them to better learn and remember information, or come up with new ideas. There is a link to other parts of this series, but one that I found fascinating was the nature trip, Mr. Richtel took with other scientists to discover what happens when you slow your brain waves down without being tethered to technology. Check out this brain on computers series.

In particular, watch videos of people who voluntarily took the "Unplugged Challenge"

How many of you think you could take that challenge and unplug?
